We have developed 138 colors for all of our plaster products. We are recommending you use these colors as they are designed with special pigments specifically designed for lime and cement mediums. The tints can achieve colors and saturation that no universal paint pigment is capable of. At only 2.5% addition by weight these tints are capable of achieving fully saturated reds, blacks and violets etc, and at lower dosages produce very contemporary shades without ever affecting the integrity of the plaster. Some of the darker colors can be very expensive to tint one 20kg bag of plaster; however it is the only option for saturated colors in a white plaster and absolutely the best option for high end long lasting projects.
Trying to achieve dark colors using high dosages of Universal Pigments can make your plaster difficult to work with, thinned out and can take a long time to dry on the wall. The structural integrity is also compromised to some extent when trying to achieve full saturation, which is never possible with these pigments. Our tints are dry, and do not add anything to the matrix of the plaster that will affect performance.
We have limited supply of tint on hand due to its costs, and cannot always guarantee the colors will be available for darker shades. It is not possible to track quantities of tints due to the large variance required to tint each size bucket and shade, so all the colors can be purchased even if out of stock. If this happens we will contact you with a timeline for receiving the tints which would normally be within 7 business days as the warehouse is located in Ontario.
Please try and give us notice if you want to purchase many dark tones ie saturated colors so we can ensure we acquire the tint as soon as possible for your project.
